How Does It Work?
- Start from a prompt, template, Figma import, GitHub repo, or a migration from another tool.
- The AI builds pages, data models (“entities”), login/permissions, and integrations.
- You iterate in chat, use a visual editor, or (on higher plans) edit code and sync with GitHub.
- Publish on Base44 hosting, optionally with a custom domain.
What Do You Get With Their Free Plan?
- 25 message credits / month, capped at 5 per day
- 100 integration credits / month
- Up to 5 apps
- Core features: AI app building, visual editor, built-in backend/database, authentication/user management, analytics, cloud storage, collaboration, and publishing to a yourapp.base44.app URL
Message credits are used when the AI builds or edits the app. Integration credits are used when the live app calls things like email, file uploads, or LLMs. Unused monthly credits do not roll over. The daily cap resets at midnight in the workspace owner’s timezone (or UTC if none is set).
You can invite collaborators on the Free plan. They use the workspace’s plan and credits; they don’t need their own paid plan.
What Are The Main Limits Of The Free Plan?
- Only public apps (no private apps)
- No custom domain
- No in-app code edits
- No removing the Base44 badge
- No GitHub sync / ZIP export
- No backend functions, automations, Stripe/payments, or advanced connectors
- Extra workspaces on Free do not get another 25-credit allowance; only the first workspace does
A first build is often ~1 credit; small text/visual tweaks are ~0.5. Heavy iterating or AI-heavy live usage burns through the 25/100 credits quickly, which is why most people treat Free as a trial/prototype tier and move to Starter ($16/mo billed yearly) for unlimited apps, custom domains, private apps, and more credits.
