Tavus builds real-time, face-to-face AI conversational video agents.
It is a live video agent that sees the person on camera, hears tone and pauses, speaks, and gestures in the same conversation. Tavus calls these agents PALs (a personified application layer). These PALs can present decks, generate UI on the fly, browse and share a screen, join Zoom/Meet/Teams, remember prior conversations, and ground answers in uploaded documents.

Tavus has two free tiers on its pricing page: one for the consumer product (PALs) and one for developers.
PAL's Free Plan
PALs are Tavus’s consumer AI humans. The free plan is $0/month with no upfront payment and includes:
- Unlimited messaging
- 15 minutes of voice and video calls
- Support for 30+ languages
Paid PAL tiers above it are Plus ($20/month, 150 minutes of voice/video) and Max ($50/month, 500 minutes).
Developer Free Plan
The developer side (Conversational Video Interface / APIs, plus no-code tools) also starts at $0. The pricing page’s comparison tables describe the free tier roughly as:
- About 20–25 minutes of conversational video per month (each conversation has a 30-second minimum charge)
- About 5 minutes of video generation per month
- Access to a limited stock face/replica library (listed as 10 faces or 25 replicas, depending on the table)
- 1 concurrent session
- Short max conversation length (about 5 minutes)
- API access and the no-code conversation tools
- Best-effort support
Higher developer tiers (Starter at $22/month, Builder at $59/month, and above) add more minutes, custom faces, concurrency, no watermark, transcripts, and pay-as-you-go overage. The site also says you can start without a credit card.
